Adobe Core 14 AFM Files
=======================

The Adobe Font Metrics (AFM) files bundled in this directory describe the
metrics of the 14 PDF Standard fonts (Times, Helvetica, Courier, Symbol,
ZapfDingbats families) defined in PDF 32000-1:2008 (and ISO 32000-1) §9.6.2.2.

All Rights Reserved.

These AFM files are redistributed verbatim from the Apache PDFBox project
(https://pdfbox.apache.org/), which itself ships them under the standard
permissive Adobe AFM redistribution terms preserved in the per-file
``Comment Copyright ...`` headers at the top of each ``.afm`` file. The
underlying Adobe AFM files are publicly available metrics-only data and
have been distributed by Adobe and downstream consumers (TeX Live, Ghostscript,
Apache PDFBox, Apache FOP, ...) under terms that permit unmodified
redistribution alongside derived works.

The Adobe Glyph List (AGL) and the Zapf Dingbats Glyph List, used by
``pypdfbox.fontbox.encoding`` to round-trip glyph names ↔ Unicode, ship under
the same Adobe permissive terms; see the root ``NOTICE`` for the full
attribution.
